Trying Out an OST

I chose Joanna's OST, which is reducing my meat intake for a week because I always wanted to try being vegetarian. However, it never happened since I would always think it would be impossibly difficult, especially since my parents cook meat very often and I didn't want to force my parents to be vegetarian when they didn't want to. However, this OST seems more realistic to me. With this OST, I can make more realistic goals that I know I could reach like for example, not eating meat for breakfast. What also especially interested me was the information that she shared on her blog. I only knew the basics of climate change like how factories contribute a large amount to this problem, however, her blog gave me more insight into different causes of climate change. For example, I knew eating animal products was hurting wildlife, but for some reason, I never acknowledged the fact that the factories that create animal products are also a part of the factories that hurt t...

The Second Shopping Trip

I received my package today and the product was as great as it was if I had bought it at the store. It was great! The process was very easy, just like any other store. I decided I would look through the Goodshop website again to see if there was anything that would catch my interest. I looked through all of the categories and stores, but after 30 minutes, I didn’t find anything. I was tempted to buy a hat, but honestly,  it was more out of wanting to donate more money to the Feeding America Organization. I felt kind of bummed since I didn’t make any purchases that would make any contributions to the Feeding America Organization.      However, at the same time, it was okay that I didn’t contribute to the Feeding America Organization today. The goal isn’t to spend money in order to donate to the Feeding America Organization. The goal was to contribute to the organization and help other families when I had the chance to do so. Using Goodshop ...

First Purchase

Today I was shopping at the usual online stores when I remembered Goodshop. When I signed up for an account, I chose to donate to the cause by searching for the Feeding America Organization . Then, I began exploring the site. I was surprised that it offered numerous coupons, especially from so many stores that I regularly shop at. Eventually, I came to an option to use the coupon codes which would link your purchase to the donation. I also came upon the option to click on a link that would take you to the homepage of that specific store. As you shop on the store’s website,  your purchases would still be connected with Goodshop allowing you to easily use your purchases to contribute to your donation through the Goodshop.                Today I bought some black sweatpants from Kohls and 2 percent of my purchase went towards the Feeding America organization. I will be honest, it was a little un...

Feeding America Through Shopping

Every day, families come home from school and work mentally and physically fatigued. Many of us rely on the food waiting in our fridges and cabinets to get us up and running again to continue through our day. However, many people still are not able to experience this. This problem, where many continue to come home with very little available food to eat has been present for years and continues to remain a top priority. Without proper nutrition, it is very hard for adults, students, children, and families to thrive in school, learning, and careers, along with enjoying the various aspects of life such as relationships and hobbies. But how can you possibly help every family in need? You don’t have to take drastic actions to have an impact. Especially during the pandemic, or regular life in general, you might find it is harder to contribute through for instance, donating or volunteering. Instead, you can help organizations who have made this cause their top ...
